Experts and Surveys Proving Fentanyl Epidemic

Fentanyl, a form of opioid, often prescribed for relieving pain is no longer just medicine to the citizens of our country. There are a lot of people who aren’t able to get off fentanyl even after their prescription ends. This has led to a full-fledged fentanyl epidemic across the country.

Experts say that there have been numerous deaths involving fentanyl in about 30 states of the country. These numbers have doubled between the years 2019 and 2021. Several other sources suggest the same.

Experts and Surveys Proving Fentanyl Epidemic

Several experts have conducted studies and surveys which prove the ongoing fentanyl epidemic in the country. This is what they all have to say:

  • Over 5000 deaths were recorded in Florida alone involving fentanyl, which has grown over two times just within 2 years.
  • The founder of Families Against Fentanyl, James Rauh says, “The fentanyl crisis is getting worse, not better. Fake pills with deadly amounts of fentanyl are popping up everywhere. It’s in fake Xanax and Percocets, and it’s being laced in cocaine and ecstasy. And a single pill can kill.”
  • The Drug Enforcement Administration also confirms that fentanyl is now being mixed with other drugs such as heroin, meth, and marijuana, making all of them deadlier than ever.
  • Families Against Fentanyl also says that fentanyl has risen to the No.1 position for being the cause of death for adults between 18 to 45 years.
