The last few years have been challenging, especially for those on the road toward addiction recovery – not just in Sugar Land, Texas, but also around the country.
We have all been alone most of the time due to the fear that the disease would spread or that we would contract it. So we have had quite a lot of time to ourselves.
Having that alone time is especially hard for those recovering from addiction because they would need the right team and company to assure them that everything will be alright.
If they’re new to sobriety, then there’s a high chance that they might suffer a relapse if they have been left to their own devices for months or years on end.
Here at Skyward Treatment, we aim to provide the treatments and support that each recovering addict needs to successfully embark on their journey towards addiction recovery.
Skyward Treatment has a beautiful and intimate rehabilitation facility in the heart of Sugar Land, Texas. We also offer our services to those in Houston and around the United States of America.
In the last two years, we have seen a surge in addiction cases, probably because of the loneliness they have felt due to being alone during COVID-19. Naturally, we can’t really blame them because the last few years have been tough for most people.
What more can we expect from those who are more vulnerable?
Though some celebrities had some things to say about sobriety during COVID-19:
- Florence Welch
The lead singer of Florence and the Machine shared on February 2021, “I am seven years sober today. I send my love and support to anyone who is struggling.”
- Macklemore
The famous singer and rapper was emotional as he shared some of his experiences during his addiction recovery, “If it wasn’t for my pops having the 10 or 12 racks that it was when I first went to treatment [at 25] and [his ability] to spend that on me, I’d be f—ing dead. I wouldn’t be here right now. That’s not to be f—ing dramatic; that’s just what it is. I was about to die.”
- Miley Cyrus
Another famous face in Hollywood, opened up about her struggles with addiction, “So just going through that and asking, ‘Why am I the way that I am?’ By understanding the past, we understand the present and the future much more clearly. I fell off, and I realized that I now am back on sobriety, two weeks sober, and I feel like I really accepted that time.”
